This itinerary is designed to offer a mix of culture, nature, and relaxation without feeling too rushed.
DAY 1
Day 01
- Depart from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) KLIA / Arrival in Trichy ➝ Thiruparankundram ➝ Madurai (155 km / 4 hrs)
- Arrive in Trichy in the morning and check in for a quick refresh.
- Then, proceed to Thiruparankundram (approximately 3.5 hours) to visit the sacred Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple, one of the Arupadai Veedu temples.
- After darshan, continue to Madurai for an overnight stay.
DAY 2
Day 02
- Madurai ➝ Pazhamudircholai ➝ Palani (145 km / 4.5 hrs)
- After breakfast, visit the Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple near Madurai.
- Then, drive to Palani to visit the famous hilltop Palani Murugan Temple.
- Overnight stay in Palani.
DAY 3
Day 03
- Palani ➝ Tiruchendur (265 km / ~6 hrs)
- Depart early from Palani and drive to Tiruchendur on the southeast coast. Visit the sea-facing Tiruchendur Murugan Temple in the evening and stay overnight.
- Tiruchendur Murugan Temple in India and Batu Caves Murugan Temple in Malaysia are iconic pilgrimage sites, uniting devotees worldwide with their sacred heritage and devotion to Lord Murugan.
DAY 4
Day 04
- Tiruchendur ➝ Swamimalai (375 km / ~8 hrs)
- Leave Tiruchendur and travel north to Swamimalai, near Kumbakonam, for a scenic drive of considerable length.
- Upon arrival, visit the Swamimalai Murugan Temple and spend the night in Kumbakonam.
DAY 5
Day 05
- Swamimalai ➝ Tiruvannamalai (200 km / ~5 hrs)
- After breakfast, head to Tiruvannamalai and visit the Arunachaleswarar Temple, one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalams.
- In the evening, consider performing the sacred Girivalam walk (optional) and then enjoy an overnight stay in Tiruvannamalai.
DAY 5
Day 06
- Early Morning Girivalam + Temple Visit ➝ Thiruthani ➝ Chennai (245 km / ~6 hrs)
- Begin the day early, around 4:00 AM, with the sacred 14 km Girivalam around Arunachala Hill, followed by a refreshing break and darshan at the Arunachaleswarar Temple.
- After breakfast, drive to Thiruthani to visit the hilltop Thiruthani Murugan Temple, then proceed to Chennai for an overnight stay.
DAY 7
Day 07
- Chennai Sightseeing & Departure (B) / Arrival to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) KLIA
- Spend the day visiting key attractions like Kapaleeshwarar Temple and Marina Beach, enjoy shopping in T. Nagar or Pondy Bazaar, and proceed to the airport.
